engage groups

If you want to dive deeper into scripture and encounter the Lord like never before, an Engage Group might be for you.
If you would like more information contact our Executive Pastor, Brian Brownlow.
Our relationship with God deepens when we communicate with him. The best ways to communicate are prayer and interacting with his word –the Bible.

Often, the Bible seems difficult and confusing, leading us to the false conclusion that we need an “expert” to tell us what it means. Listening to sermons and teaching from trusted sources is always a good thing; however, God wants to speak directly to you through his word. In order to help resource and encourage you, we are starting Engage Groups.

An Engage Group is 3-5 people who are following a Bible reading plan together and commit to meeting once a week for an hour to share what God is saying to them through the Scriptures. The reading plan is 5 days per week so there is some grace if you get behind and we will walk with you and your group providing tools to help you make reading God’s word a part of your life and something you look forward to.
To join a group, click the "Need a group?" button above and fill out the form. Pastor Brian Brownlow will be in touch with you as soon as possible.

Read: Philippians Chapter 4

S: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13

O: Paul is telling the church at Philippi that he has discovered the secret of contentment no matter the situation in his life, he realized that Christ was all he needed and that it was Christ who strengthened him to persevere through difficult times.

A: In my life, I will experience many ups and downs. My contentment is not found in circumstances. Rather it is based on my relationship with Jesus Christ and his unchanging nature. I do not have that strength in myself! Only Jesus gives me the strength I need to be content in every circumstance of life.

R: Lord Jesus, please help me as I strive to be in content in you. I repent of looking for contentment in my circumstances and myself. Through your strength, help me face every situation with confidence that you are with me.

Read: James Chapter 1

S: “Consider great joy, my brothers, whenever you experience of various trials, because you know that the testing of your faith produces endurance.” James 1:2-3

O: James wrote this letter to believers who were scattered because of persecution, so his words about facing trials would have hit close to home for them for believers, difficulties are not obstacles, but opportunities for our faith in Christ to grow.

A: As I encounter hard times in difficult situations, I need to remember that what I’m going through is helping to strengthen my walk with Christ. Because it is making my faith in Jesus stronger, I can actually face the situations with joy!

R: God, adjust my eyes so that I see things happening now from your perspective. Keep my focus trained on you, so that as I walk through difficulties, I rejoice in you strengthening my faith. Thank you for caring about my faith! Thank you for deepening my faith through pain and trial!
